Are You Just Guessing What Others Are Thinking?

“Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in.” –  Isaac Asimov

This week we are pondering and exploring meditation; specifically the Four Agreements, as written by Don Miguel Ruiz and taught to me by my meditation guru, davidji.  Inspired by this awesome weekend meditation.

The Third of the Four Agreements is:
Don’t make assumptions.
It is important to remember that we see the world through our own lens and what we see is always colored by our own opinions and perceptions. We can assume that we know what another person is thinking, what they meant by a comment, how they are feeling, instead of having the courage to just ASK. Most times when we make assumptions we are WAY off the mark.

We do this in our relationships, assume that our partner knows what we like and want.  It is so much more pure and effective to just ask for...

Do You Let The Opinion Of Others Dictate Your Life?

Whatever happens around you, don’t take it personally… Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves.” Don Miguel Ruiz – “The Four Agreements”

This week we are pondering and exploring meditation; specifically the Four Agreements, as written by Don Miguel Ruiz and taught to me by my meditation guru, davidji.  Inspired by this awesome weekend meditation.

The Second of the Four Agreements is:
Don’t take anything personally.
I must also include this quote, that I love “What You Think About Me Is None Of My Business”, the title of a book by Terry Cole-Whittaker.  It is a basic understanding that while we are all one, we each create in our own reality and our perspectives shape what we see.

Understanding that what others think about us has everything to do with them and nothing to do with us is a very freeing thought.  davidji describes this as really living the...

Have You Ever Said Something You Wish You Could Take Back?

“Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.” -Rumi

This week we are pondering and exploring meditation; specifically the Four Agreements, as written by Don Miguel Ruiz and taught to me by my guru, davidji.  Inspired by this awesome weekend meditation.

The First of the Four Agreements is:
Be impeccable with your words. We all have memories, good or bad, of things we said or heard; words that have a profound and lasting effect on us.    Our words are a powerful gift and if we intend to use them only for good, we avoid regrets and rejoice in enriching the world.

Meditate on this today. Implant in your thinking the intention to be conscious of the power of your words and to choose them with care.Make this agreement a part of yourself . The practice of meditation helps us recognize and connect with a part of ourselves that allows us to pause and observe and choose our responses....

Do You Take Time To Connect With Your Highest Self?

“…people say they don’t have time to meditate.  That’s like saying ‘I don’t have time to find my keys, so I’ll just walk to work’.” – Abraham – (Esther Hicks)

This week we are going to ponder and explore meditation; specifically the Four Agreements, as written by Don Miguel Ruiz and taught to me by my guru, davidji.  Inspired by this awesome weekend meditation.

The Four Agreements are:  1. Be impeccable with your words.  2. Don’t take anything personally.  3. Don’t make assumptions.  4. Always do your best.

We will delve more deeply into each of these, but first, do you have a meditation practice?  Do you take time to connect with your breath, with stillness and silence, with your greater self?

If you have never meditated or don’t have a practice, try this.  Breath in for 4 seconds, hold that for 4 seconds, breath out...

Are You Bringing Good to Others?

“…the Universe is very interested in you being all you are meant to be, for this you came.  But not just you.” – Mary Morrissey

Mary goes on to say that when our dream is in service of others and the greater good, you have the Universe at your back!  So your dream should have good in it for others, but don’t be confused by this. For instance if your dream is to find your soul mate and live in love and joy, you may ask how is this good for others? Because everyone who sees your true love is uplifted and shares in your joy.

This week we are learning the 5 point test to make sure your dream is worthy of trading your life for. Most people ask the wrong question here and say “am worthy of this dream?”  You ARE! You are a son or daughter of God and all good things were meant for you. But your dream should elicit a strong YES answer to these five questions.

The fifth and...

What SPECIFICALLY Do You Want?

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
–W. Clement Stone

This week we are exploring the 5 point code for designing the vision or dream that you will use to be the compass for your life; the rudder for your ship.

The third point of this code is to BE SPECIFIC!  The bank cannot cash a check for “plenty of money”.  A contractor cannot build you a “spacious house”.  When designing your dream, begin with gratitude and your powerful, present tense, sacred name, I AM and follow that with specifics about what your life is.

Describe the way your body moves and looks and feels and serves you. Where do you live? What does your home look like? Who lives there with you?  What do your relationships look and feel like? How do you earn your money and how much do you earn? Do you travel? Where do you go and what experiences do you have?  How do you give and create?

What Are You Saying Yes To Today?

“Although I am a typical loner in my daily life, my awareness of belonging to the invisible community of those who strive for truth, beauty, and justice has prevented me from feelings of isolation.”  –  Albert Einstein

I used this quote today because I like it and it fits me, even though it has little to do with today’s message.  We can think about more them one thing at a time, right?

This week we are exploring the 5 point code for designing the vision or dream that you will use to be the compass for your life; the rudder for your ship.

The fourth point of this code is to BE positive and FEEL positive.  Your subconscious and the Universe think in pictures and struggle with negatives. For example, if I ask you NOT to imagine your dining room; DON’T think about the table and chairs and centerpiece, what does your mind automatically picture?  Your dining room, right?  So state the things you...

Are You Using Your All- Access Pass to the Infinite Intelligence of The Universe?

“Faith is the complete reliance on the power and goodness of Spirit and the firm belief that you are always connected to this goodness. Always affirm your faith and not your doubt.” – Wayne Dyer

Any question that we can ask can be answered by the Infinite Intelligence of your creator; call it God, the Universe, Source, Life Force.  As Wayne Dyer said “hell, call it Louise!”  There is a higher power that is beating your heart and your dream will insist that you tap into this endless resource.

This week we are learning the 5 point test to make sure your dream is worthy of trading your life for.  Most people ask the wrong question here and say “am worthy of this dream?”  You ARE!  You are a son or daughter of God and all good things were meant for you. Have You Set Up Housekeeping In Your Comfort Zone?

“If you put yourself in a position where you have to stretch outside your comfort zone, then you are forced to expand your consciousness.” – Les Brown

All successful people will tell you that they are willing to have some discomfort in the interest of growth.  Many of us have settled into our comfort zones, unwilling or afraid to venture outside, where true growth awaits.  We are meant to grow.  We are meant to keep reaching for more and expanding our lives; striving to live toward our potential.

Is Your Dream Worthy Of You?

(I apologize; this should have been posted yesterday, May 16)

“…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”  John 10:10

The first question is, “does my dream make me feel alive?” When you write and read and imagine being in your dream 3 years from now, it should make you feel overjoyed, eager, enthusiastic and expansive. You should feel a strong feeling of aliveness when you put on the dream. If you don’t, go back to the dreaming board and make it bigger, include more of what you love, add detail. Your dream...
