“Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” Og Mandino – author of “The Greatest Salesman In The World”
This week we are pondering and exploring meditation; specifically the Four Agreements, as written by Don Miguel Ruiz and taught to me by my meditation guru, davidji. Inspired by this awesome weekend meditation.
The Fourth of the Four Agreements is:
Always Do Your Best. davidji has a wonderful meditation called DOing and BEing your best, wherein he says that between trying too hard and not trying at all is this sweet spot called doing your best. One of the core practices I teach my clients is to do what you can, with what you have, today, to take a step in the direction of your dream.
Your best will change from day to day, but if you always intend to show up wearing the best version of yourself that is available to you that day, you will live in joy and never have regrets. I heard my own coach, Rich Boggs say...
“Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in.” – Isaac Asimov
Whatever happens around you, don’t take it personally… Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves.” Don Miguel Ruiz – “The Four Agreements”
“Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.” -Rumi
Meditate on this today. Implant in your thinking the intention to be conscious of the power of your words and to choose them with care.Make this agreement a part of yourself . The practice of meditation helps us recognize and connect with a part of ourselves that allows us to pause and observe and choose our responses....
“…people say they don’t have time to meditate. That’s like saying ‘I don’t have time to find my keys, so I’ll just walk to work’.” – Abraham – (Esther Hicks)
“…the Universe is very interested in you being all you are meant to be, for this you came. But not just you.” – Mary Morrissey
“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
–W. Clement Stone
This week we are exploring the 5 point code for designing the vision or dream that you will use to be the compass for your life; the rudder for your ship.
The third point of this code is to BE SPECIFIC! The bank cannot cash a check for “plenty of money”. A contractor cannot build you a “spacious house”. When designing your dream, begin with gratitude and your powerful, present tense, sacred name, I AM and follow that with specifics about what your life is.
Describe the way your body moves and looks and feels and serves you. Where do you live? What does your home look like? Who lives there with you? What do your relationships look and feel like? How do you earn your money and how much do you earn? Do you travel? Where do you go and what experiences do you have? How do you give and create?
