Are You On Course?

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” — Chinese Proverb

An airplane flying anywhere is off course more than 90{9c244d8ed86355dd0a86bab4317158b0d119ceb95dfad73ab1415bad7035f9f4} of the time. Despite having a very precise destination programmed into the navigational system, the pilot or autopilot has to make nearly constant adjustments to stay on course and actually arrive at that destination.

And so it is with our lives.  We set a destination (vision) and plot our course and then life happens. Our paradigms kick in, or something else takes us off course. At this point, a deliberate creator sees the change in course and makes the adjustments to get back on track. Most other people don’t and remain off course, not reaching the destination they had in mind.

Are You Reaching For What You Want? Or For What You Think You Can Have

It is precisely the possibility of realizing a dream that makes life interesting.
Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

When most of us are planning our day, our week or our life, we ask the wrong question.  We look at our bank account, or our job, our age or education, our past or experience and ask “what can I have?”  The better question is “what would I love?”

As Thoreau said  “…if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams… he will meet a success unexpected in common hours.”  Improve the quality of your questions!  Plan your life to be what you would LOVE and trust the Universe to reveal the steps to lead you to the life of your dreams.

The Universe will supply the answer to ANY question, so instead of asking “how can I get a week off and not lose money” ask instead, “how can I spend a month in a Tuscan village and MAKE $5,000?”  The...

Do You Know The Truth?

“The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.” –Brian Tracy

Each and everyone of us has unlimited, god-given potential. This is the truth. Each of us has a capacity which is created by our consciousness. This is a fact. Facts can change, truth cannot. Whatever the facts are today, the state of your bank account, your relationship, your body, those facts can be changed by making a conscious choice to expand our capacity and reach for our potential.

Another way we often say this is that while there may be conditions or facts that we don’t choose or prefer, we do choose how we think about those facts.

Today, keep your eyes on the truth of your unlimited potential.  Use your consciousness to increase your capacity and reach for your...

Are You Fully Dressed?

“You’re never fully dressed without a smile.” ~Annie

Every sentient being is connected by a wireless network, through a part of our brain called a mirror neuron.  It’s why yawns are contagious, but smiles are also contagious.

Try smiling at someone for 10 seconds and see if they don’t smile back.

It costs nothing, makes you feel good and makes the recipient feel good too!

Happy Monday! Today’s message is simple. Smile. Much love!

You are creating your life! Choose your thoughts, your words and your actions and create a life you truly LOVE living!

Is Your Self- Esteem Keeping Up With Your Dreams?

“What a man thinks of himself, that it is which determines, or rather indicates his fate.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Another way of saying this, not that I think I can improve on Thoreau, is that we cannot outperform our self-esteem. Our inner image of ourselves will set the limits of what we can accomplish.

The good news is that we all have the power to raise our self-esteem. I can suggest some easy practices that will help, but only if you do them, every day, consistently and repetitively. Repetition is the first law of learning and it takes diligence to reprogram your thoughts.

Watch your self-talk. When you hear your inner voice being critical of you, stop and look for a quality you love in yourself and praise yourself instead.  Practice mirror-work. This is an invention of Louise Hay in which you actually look in the mirror and express your love for yourself, right into your own eyes.

Try this!  I bet the...

Dear Diary. This Is HOW My Day Is Going To Go. Ok?

“The greater danger for most of us isn’t that our aim is too high and miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” ~ Michelangelo

Research shows that writing engages all of the parts of your brain.

The very best way to create an amazing day, every day, is to decide first thing to do exactly that; and WRITE IT DOWN.  Journaling is the most powerful tool we have for being the master of our thoughts and our days.  I encourage my clients to journal twice a day;  in the morning to set their intentions for the day, and in the evening to congratulate themselves for a day well-lived.

Your journal becomes a beautiful set of bookends between which you build the days that make your life. First thing, decide what is important to you that day and put on the qualities you want to have. Use “I am” statements, and “I am creating” statements.  It’s also a very good time to get in a...

Are You In Tune With The Emotional Guidance

“The emotion you feel is always about the vibrational variance between where you want to be and where you are. If you’re out of balance, there are only two ways to bring yourself into alignment: Either raise your expectation to match your desire—or lower your desire to match your expectation.”
—Abraham

Abraham-Hicks is the source of some of my favorite teaching on the Laws of The Universe.  http://www.abraham-hicks.com/

We were all born with a guidance system; our emotions. Well meaning adults soon begin to teach us to look outside of ourselves for guidance, instead of staying in touch with our own inner knowing, so we have to re-train ourselves to tune in to how we are feeling.

Our emotions are the first sign of what we are thinking. If we’re thinking negative thoughts, we are going to be feeling negative emotions. We have the power to stop here, choose a better feeling thought, or go...

Are You Choosing, or Are You Choosing?

“The person who does not make a choice makes a choice.”  Jewish Proverb

Or, in the immortal words of Rush

“If  you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”  Rush – Freewill

I love the quotes, but they don’t leave much to say  in explanation. It’s pretty clear. Exercise your power to choose; to choose your thoughts, your actions and your responses, or choose not to choose and just remain at the mercy of your conditions and circumstances. Simple, but not always easy. It is far more difficult to rely on our own inner wisdom and to believe in Truth as it is to just trust appearances.

Today’s message is simple and clear.  Choose.  On purpose.

You are creating your life!   Choose your thoughts, your words and your actions and create a life you truly LOVE living!

Do You Care Enough To Be "Selfish"?

“Self-love, my liege, is not so vile a sin, as self-neglecting.”  William Shakespeare, Henry V

We have all said, or heard someone say, “She is so selfish; she only thinks about herself.” The rest of that statement, usually left unspoken is “she should be thinking about ME instead.”  So who is actually the selfish one here?

It is important and fulfilling and pleasing to the Universe for us to contribute in ways that serve others and expand the existence of all, but when we neglect ourselves, we will quickly find that we have nothing left to give.

How lovely would the world be if we were all “selfish”; taking responsibility for our own happiness and shining that light on all we meet?   When we are trying to please others, it never works out anyway, because everyone wants something different.

Love and serve yourself first and watch how that joy overflows and bathes all of those you love...
