Do You Let The Opinion Of Others Dictate Your Life?

Uncategorized May 25, 2016

Whatever happens around you, don’t take it personally… Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves.” Don Miguel Ruiz – “The Four Agreements”

This week we are pondering and exploring meditation; specifically the Four Agreements, as written by Don Miguel Ruiz and taught to me by my meditation guru, davidji.  Inspired by this awesome weekend meditation.

The Second of the Four Agreements is:
Don’t take anything personally.
I must also include this quote, that I love “What You Think About Me Is None Of My Business”, the title of a book by Terry Cole-Whittaker.  It is a basic understanding that while we are all one, we each create in our own reality and our perspectives shape what we see.

Understanding that what others think about us has everything to do with them and nothing to do with us is a very freeing thought.  davidji describes this as really living the concept of Namaste’.  “I honor the divine light in you that is also in me.  When you are in that place and I am in that place, we are one. ”  Meaning that we are neither above nor below one another, but perfect equals, “open to feedback, immune to criticism”.

Meditate on this today. Understand your power to walk your own path, and allowing others to walk theirs, in perfect harmony, with no judgement, open to feedback and immune to criticism.

Take a minute, or five, or 30 today, to be still and connect with your Source and with your highest self. Learn to engage the witness part of your nature and set your intention to not take anything personally

You are creating your life!   Choose your thoughts, your words and your actions and create a life you truly LOVE living!    Have an EXTRAORDINARY week!
